Student Health Awareness!
Welcome to a Whole New World of Foods!
On college campuses and other school grounds, nutrient dense meals and snacks are very scarce leaving more health conscious students with the incentives of purchasing unhealthy foods. The majority which are generally less health conscious, are encouraged to engage in unhealthy eating behaviors as well. The convenience of highly caloric processed foods which are composed of various addictive properties including unnatural sugars and sodium have been notorious for triggering addictive behaviors. Such behaviors can interfere with student progress in academics. Students that are too comfortable with the convenience of such foods are far less likely to engage in physical activity than their health conscious counter parts and may gain weight or be unable to maintain a healthy weight overtime.
The concept of Student Health Awareness is to inform viewers of the prevalence of various snack machines and convenience stores on college campuses while offering students with more nutritious options mainly through student submissions of homemade recipes for healthier meals and snacks.
